I’m catching up on my blog posts, and I realized there’s been so much I haven’t shared.  I’m going all the way  back to  February when we did the premiere reception for “The Yellow Handkerchief.” It was one of those events when 300 folks come out of the screening and  we need to be ready to  serve! We’re real good at this kind of reception,  and  we can do it on a tight budget too.

First we set up the trays while the folks are watching he movie.

We are ready and waiting to serve you!  This event was at the Silver Screen Theater at the Pacific Design Center. They are sticklers for the paper work  and insurance nonsense, but  the easy to work  and elegant venue always creates a successful and enjoyable evening.

Six 8-foot tables pushed together to make a long wide table ( 3 on each side).  Drape each table separately then push them together (make sure you check  the length of the drape so all the seams match up). Create a grand centerpiece to pull it all together.

And if you have room for a stylist in the budget, give Stephanie a call at Motif in Pasadena – she’s the genius visionary for this incredibly beautiful event.

This clever hostess created a little burlap ditty bag with the bride and groom to be’s favorite candy,  a cracker, pick and bib for the lobster bake and of course,  a few fresh wipes.  It looked fantastic on the table and every guest got into the candy before the party ended.

Sometimes a client comes along that makes my heart sing.  This is one such client.  She adores her hubby and loves to party, just like me.  She invited  11 guests to tour the Marina on segways…

I love my brides.  They are always on a strict budget, and I, being a gifted green penny pincher myself, am always willing and able to oblige. Squeezing all those dollars bills lends  to creating great ideas on the wedding day.  Autumn chose black, white and red as her colors and  that made flower selection very easy… long stem red roses.

Our amazing centerpieceStaff members extraordinaire Susan and Sheila did this installation from our equipment and the bride’s florals.  Check out the party favors in the back.  Autumn and Doug made framed photos of all their guests, beautiful!

table numbers the new wayInstead of   a traditional framed table number, Katrina stuck a pin right in the cork of the wine bottles on all the tables.  Their clever party favor was  ” tree in a box” . A green wedding to the last detail.

My Favorite FavorI loved this party favor! It’s pear ( get it Pair!) seasoned olive oil for a wedding favor. So Lovely.

A Very Clever bride with a soda Shoppe theme created these centerpieces using  old fashioned   fountain glasses and carnations.  Mel and Gio are trying to get to the bottom of things. Love the straw!
